Histon Manor Fundraising Week
Histon Manor buzzed with activity last week as they hosted a series of charity events, raising a fantastic total of over £760.00 for local causes.
Kicking off the week on Thursday morning, Histon Manor welcomed The Cambridge Mums Club for a delightful breakfast brunch. The event aimed to raise funds for EACH Children's Hospices, a worthy cause close to many hearts. The fundraising received a boost thanks to local photographer, Helen Alderton, who generously donated her time to capture precious moments with mother and baby photos.
Afternoon Tea Transformation: Later that day, the marquee on the front lawn underwent a speedy transformation, creating a welcoming space for 70 members of the local Holiday at Home group. They hosted a cream tea for older residents, fostering social connection and raising £400 for HI Friends, a charity dedicated to supporting wellbeing and mobility with Histon and Impington.
Connecting with Care: On Friday afternoon, Histon Manor hosted a second special tea party for individuals and family living with memory loss. The focus of the event was to give a relaxing occasion for families, friends and carers whilst raising £140 for Alzheimer's Society to boot from guests’ generous donations. Attendees came from Cambridge and surrounding villages, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere topped off with a quiz.
Katherine Mann, owner of Histon Manor said ‘The success of these events wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of the team of volunteers, the generosity of the local community, and the use of the beautiful marquee generously provided by the Cambridge Tent Company. We hope these events went beyond simply fundraising, but also helped to strengthen community spirit and raising awareness of important causes.’
‘A huge thank you to you and your team for the marvellous afternoon you gave us today. Everyone had a truly lovely time and was amazed at the generosity of hospitality and the attention to detail. Events like this are incredibly beneficial to members. Jan Payne, Leader for the Forget-me-not Journey Memory Support Groups
