Snowdrop Walk at Histon Manor raises over £2400.00

This year’s terrible earthquake in Syria and Turkey led us to a much larger fundraising push for our winter opening, to try and maximise donations for the disaster fund. This year we opened the gardens to welcome more visitors and over 500 visitors swung by to see Spring on its way !

The 100 tea and cake tickets bought prior to the earthquake were allocated (as originally promoted) to our wonderful village charity HI Friends. £577.00 will go to support the Holiday at Home initiative and play workers in our village primary schools. We decided that ‘donations on the day’ should go towards the earthquake appeal. Our amazing visitors just keep filling up the donations bucket, raising in total £1842.58! Funds were transferred straight away to the appeal and we cannot thank you enough for being so generous.

We are so glad you enjoyed the day and the comments about the snowdrops were heart-warming. It has spurred us on to keep working on removing the ivy in these areas so that hopefully even more will come through for next year!

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the team of volunteers and cake bakers. A HUGE THANK YOU.
